Let us study architectural environment, and consider the quality of space and life
Our research area is engineering of architectural environment, especially of acoustical environment. Recently, when speaking of environment, topics that come to mind are common environmental problems, such as reducing CO2 or saving energy. However, when involved in architecture, it is also necessary to keep in mind the quality of space, as well as QOL (Quality of Life) which is strongly related with the quality of space. Acoustical environment is a very important factor in QOL. Our research activities are focused on development of numerical methods for sound field analyses, prediction of various sound fields not only in buildings but also in outdoor environments, investigation and modeling of acoustical characteristics of architectural materials, etc.
